PREPARING YOUR SAMPLE TO SEND TO US
You have Two Options for sample preparation
You can send small pieces to us and we can dry and grind your sample, or you can send a dry, finely ground sample. Please read the information below carefully.
- YOU WILL GET THE MOST ACCURATE ANALYTICAL RESULTS ON YOUR SAMPLE IF IT IS HOMOGENEOUS. THIS REQUIRES YOU TO TAKE SAMPLES FROM VARIOUS AREAS OF YOUR SOURCE MATERIAL OR AT LEAST FROM VARIOUS PLACES ON THE SAME SAMPLE ROCK OR SOIL.
- ALL SAMPLES MUST EVENTUALLY BE DRY AND IN A FINELY GROUND STATE. IF YOU DO NOT WISH TO DO THE GRINDING YOURSELF, PLEASE ORDER GRINDING AND/OR DRYING FROM OUR LIST OF SERVICES. IF YOUR SAMPLE ARRIVES WET OR UNGROUND AND YOU HAVE NOT ORDERED DRYING OR GRINDING, WE WILL NEED TO CALL YOU SO YOU CAN UPGRADE YOUR ORDER.
- PLACE YOUR SAMPLE IN A STRONG ZIPLOCK PLASTIC BAG, SEAL TIGHTLY.
- YOU MUST CREATE A UNIQUE ID FOR EACH SAMPLE YOU SEND AND ATTACH IT TO EACH BAGGED SAMPLE. THIS IS SO YOU CAN KEEP TRACK OF EXACTLY WHAT YOU SEND TO US.
- DOWNLOAD OUR FILLABLE ORDER FORM AND SEND IT WITH YOUR SAMPLE
- WE LOVE OUR CUSTOMERS, HOWEVER WE DO NOT GIVE REFUNDS AFTER SERVICES ARE PERFORMED.

- Sending your sample for us to prepare – If you choose this option your sample should be homogeneous with pieces no larger than 1/4". Ideally you should send about 1/4 cup for your sample. If your sample is wet, please add drying to your order. You will also need to add Crushing, Splitting, Pulverizing to your order. Place in a ziplock bag and attach your unique ID for the sample.
- Preparing your own sample - If you choose this option your sample should be homogenous and ground to 100 mesh or less, which is similar to the texture of flour. Ideally you should send about 1/4 cup for your sample size. This sample should be dry. Place in a Ziplock bag and attach your unique ID for the sample.
- FOR INTERNATIONAL SHIPMENTS REQUIRING CUSTOM DOCUMENTS: Send only dry samples Please identify your sample as a NON COMMERCIAL MINERAL SAMPLE. Check with your local customs department for the proper customs code. Do NOT send over 2 pounds in one package.
